Standard # 1 Learner Development
The teacher understands how learners grow and develop, recognizing that patterns of learning an development vary individually within and across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical areas, and designs and implements developmentally appropriate and challenging learning experiences.

This is a timeline that helps describe the reading development of children at certain ages. It is broken down into certain age groups and briefly describes what happens at that age. All children develop at different rates so it varies from kid to kid so my timeline is just an estimate. It connects to this CCTS because it is important when teaching that you know what age of kids you have and what point they should be at in their reading development. It will help you see what kids are ahead and what kids need extra help to further their development.
It is so important as a teacher to be able to cater to what your students’ needs are. This helped me understand that not every kid learns the same. When I was looking at different timelines they all have different ages on when things should happen. Generally they are around the same point but it shows that we are all human and comprehend at different paces.
